Sylvia Cotton
Sylvia Cotton
Sylvia joined the UIC in 2006 and has been a user of the approach for many years. Her varied (some may say random) career has included working with Richard facilitating organisational improvement as part of a large quality initiative within the railway industry in the early 1990s.
Following that, she was responsible for the strategic development of recruitment and resourcing and for the management of training and development programmes at one of the Midlands based Train Operating Companies. As part of her passion for customer service, and what she calls “her mid life crisis”, she then moved into an operational job as Head of Train Services for Midland Mainline; a position she held for 7 years.
Sylvia has extensive, practical experience of managing large front-line teams and has led a wide range of projects.
Sylvia came home to the UIC in June 2006 and immediately picked up where she left off. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling and renovating her old cottage in Derbyshire.
