The 4th Annual UIMPROVE Facilitators Conference was held on 17-18 May 2010 in Alsager, Cheshire.

Carol Tavernier, London South Bank University

Carol Tavernier from London South Bank University gave us an insight into using UIMPROVE in the daunting world of the academic. She attended the Facilitator Development Programme as a lone voice in her organisation and has since transformed their approach to project management resulting in lots of enthusiasm for UIMPROVE. She told us 'you get exactly what it says on the tin with UIMPROVE'.



Annual Pub Quiz

As in 2009, the quiz resulted in three teams drawing.

At the 2009 Conference, Mike Davidge, Head of Measurement at the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement wowed an initially cautious audience with his brilliant session about the use of data in organisations. Back by popular demand, this year Mike ran Dr Deming's famous Red Bead Experiment.

Freya Owen has been a Facilitator at Cobalt Housing for the past 3 years. In addition to this and her 'day-job', she also co-ordinates the Facilitator resource for her organisation. Freya has recently been involved in setting up a Facilitator network between different organisations and explained the benefits that can be gained from working in partnership with different organisations using UIMPROVE.

The world of housing has a long-standing track record of involving customers in how organisations are run. Phil Lukes, Customer Involvement Manager for City South Manchester Housing Trust shared his experiences and expertise in how he is transforming this with the use of Noriaki, the UIC's customer satisfaction data collection and analysis system.
