Alison

Alison joined the UIC in 2015 after working as the Facilitator Coordinator for TransLink. It was in this role where she discovered her passion for organisational improvement and through UIMPROVE found the way to turn the theory learned while studying Management at Griffith University into practical, improvement focused action.

Alison’s favourite part of the job is helping organisations develop strategies that are easily understood outside the boardroom and are meaningful throughout all tiers of the organisation. Seeing strategies scribbled on post-it-notes one day being delivered through properly prioritised project and well managed routine operation later is her foundation for joy in work. A very close second to this would be watching the confidence of newly trained Facilitators grow while they put their new skills to use throughout the programme. It is a privilege to be part of that transformation.

Outside of work she enjoys renovating her house, hanging out with her young adult children, listening to live music, weekends away drinking good wine with good friends and soaking up the Brisbane sunshine with her dogs and chickens.
